Last year after a game verse Alabama, Meyer was hospitalized with chest pains and many thought he would retire then but he did not and came back this past season but it was a disappointing one to say the least. 7-5 overall and 4-4 in SEC play.
"The decision to step down was a difficult one," Meyer said. "But, after spending more than two decades motivating and celebrating the young men I've been so proud to coach, I relish the opportunity to cheer for my three terrific kids as they compete in their own respective sports."
Press conference will be held today at 6pm on ESPN.
