Pensar: Life...

Life… Something so precious, that only a few billion people are privilege to experience. Are you satisfied? I often ask myself, would I be Satisfied If my creator ended it now? No! Life is the greatest high when you speak from a higher understanding, you have a sense of fulfilling the obligation of giving that opportunity to someone either unborn or under-privilege and I have not done either. I have so much unfinished business that I feel it will leave a debt so big that it would carry into the after life.  Sometimes you should sit back and ask yourself that if you were to die today would you be content with how you lived it? Sometimes we run so hard and fast in the maze of life that we lose our way. Lose our way so deep that we forget to enjoy the spoils of life and helping people do the same.  Some people have live a complete lifetime without experiencing the simple things of life worth living for like Love & Friendship. Those people gained the world.  Today we are so young stuck on the same playlist of life. It’s time to diversify your lifestyle in order to fulfill it with all of life’s spoils. Write out a “list” of everything you want in life and rip it up! Life needs no plan. Remember, Only A few people are privilege to experience it….Life

Pensar: Tupac Speaks...

What's Good?
Tupac poors his heart out! His mentality as a person was always a level beyond what his audience thought. Take a deep and honest listen and tell me what you think.

Pensar:

What's Good?
Obama, Obama, Obama! Do you know what your President has done for you? So many people in America have bashed Obama saying that he hasn't done anything for our country, but how much time have you taken to see what bills he pushed through congress. I understand that Obama said he will do a lot of things but remember the President does not create the Law. There is a process and a chain of protocol to everything in life. I am going to make it simple as possible for you...

Now you can understand why it is taking time!

WORLD AIDS DAY

What's Good?
J. Ortiz and I put our minds together to share our vision for the purpose to inspire people to raise awareness about AIDS.
Today is December 1st, which is World AIDS Day.  The AIDS epidemic has taken the lives of over 60 million people including two of my family members. Taking on this project meant so much for me because in order for our future to flourish we have to take care of everything that is affecting us now. GET TESTED, STAY PROTECTED!

Pensar: It's ALIVE

What's Good?
Yesterday, Kanye West went under some scrutiny from MSNBC when asked about his statement toward former President George W. Bush. During times of crisis in New Orleans During Hurricane Katrina's fury, West spoke out against the president for his lack of effort to send help. His most controversial statement of that interview was him calling President Bush a "Racist". A couple days ago President Bush spoke out about Kanye's statement and said "That was one of the most disgusting moments of his presidency". MSNBC sat with West to get his feed back on Bush's reaction.

In my belief to this matter, I don't Blame Kanye for his outburst because at the time Bush was one of Americas most unfavored Presidents. So much controversy stood over his Presidency and he didn't make an attempt to speak on any of it. We understand that being a President is the hardest job in the world considering your pay, but when the people who vote you in, needs answers your job is create an answer. As far as Bush being a racist, I would like to believe he is not but he shows no favor to the black community and showed no urgency to help one of Americas most impoverished  African American populated cities. Not to mention that there was a state of emergency...Keyword "Emergency"! When 9/11 struck America, help was available before the smoke cleared. A whole city gets washed away and it took days to respond, not to mention that only African American people were on every media outlet baffled to why there hasn't been any help for the past few days. I commend Kanye for his progressive change in society to make things better. Understanding first hand that the world is changing and that white and black people are becoming one, some people still have it in their hearts that the oppressed should remain oppressed.

Pensar: OBAMA STAND-UP!

What's Good?
Since elections were complete and the Democratic Party lost the majority of seats in the Senate, many republics have already lashed out. I know I am not a man of politics but when I watch my fair share I become completely sick to my stomach. Our President has put shame to many demographics of people in this very nation he represents. America has become America for it's resilience and hard nosed attitude, so why our President can't reflect that attitude. During Bush's administration the world spoke out and Bush continued to carry out his will. When the republicans Formed their Tea Party, They made so many attempts to deface Obama image. President Obama, my aunt and I speak about you everyday and how you remain to keep your image in the perception of the people as the "Humbled Oppressed Black Man". We voted you into the White House for a reason now its time to put more "GRASS-ROOTED" educated people in your corner for "WAR TIME" strategies. Today on MSNBC  Mitch McConnell spoke out against you. He demanded that you the PRESIDENT come his way or no way. America does not negotiate with TERRORIST because thier plan is to create another tax cut and give the power back to the banks who leased out their space on AMERICA'S SOIL. WE DO NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORIST, INTERNALLY OR INTERNATIONALLY. AMERICA SHOULD NOT BE FOR SALE!

Pensar: Life's Philosophy

What's Good?
Two days ago someone ask me how did I make it to where I am now...
I know most of you are expecting a biography, when in fact I will provide a philosophy. My life has been full of trials and tribulations that most of you have not experience. During my early ages I realized the greatest mindset to have in the world is to not care for many things but what you want. I know reading this off first sight may lead you to believe this is a selfish philosophy but let me break it down. In today's society many people tend to please all the wrong people, especially those with no hope of returning the grace. Sometime we sacrifice so much to appease the masses instead of doing what pleases us. Pleasing yourself and only doing what is best for you and not others maybe the best way to provide for them. When you work hard everyday and set yourself to live a certain lifestyle you encourage the very people who you feed to build something for themselves. Sometimes you can give all of your time to something that may not be beneficial but at the same time feel like you're responsible for its well being. Your life plan may want you somewhere else and the more you feed your time you can miss your calling. Your calling for that very moment you were supposed to be at that place for your blessing. These sacrifices can lead you to unhappiness, loss of family and financial misfortune. Don't Miss Your Train.

Pensar...(I Will Not Sleep Anymore)

What's Good?
Sean Walker opened my eyes in so many ways. Every night I speak to my mentor I always tell her to get some sleep. After watching this video I completely understand her grind. This is definitely my wake-up call! I hope you can relate to it. Thank You Sean Walker.

Pensar

What's Good?

This segment of Pensar will be a little different from the usual. COLLEGE, what a joke. So many promises since childhood of all the pleasures you can have when obtaining higher education. Its been almost four months in completion and many of my fellow graduates have not received a single job offer. Many have applied, sat in interviews and many have yet to hear any good news. Why did all these people tell us to get good grades when those in fact are not helping. This means that I could of went out or stayed home another day after vacation instead being prompt to get that golden 4.0. So many ideas have come across my mind to bring a higher awareness when involving unemployment within my generation. If you graduated class of 2008,2009 and 2010 and still do not have job please email me at Novemberschild@live.com .

Pensar

What's Good?
I don't understand how so many rappers are stealing hand signals from fraternities, groups and collegiate teams. How do people feel about that? Honestly speaking... If a rapper ever thought it was cool to throw my hooks up, I would feel its cool to blackout. Skull Gang and Spitta have created movements signaling all fans to throw up the Alpha hand gesture in symbol of their movement. Now Alpha Phi Alpha has used that hand gesture for decades to where it should be copyrighted and respected enough to the fact that it wouldnt be replicated. Although Curen$y jet symbol is very similar people tend to not spread their fingers wide enough. This is not a joke but people should correct people with knowledge when they tend to replicate things of great history. Now Cam'ron new U.N. symbol is a replication of The U (University of Miami). A sports symbol which lead to be the signaling gesture to recognize alumni to alumni. Now with random fans of Cam's Music throwing up a symbol that belongs to a prestigious University, no one knows who truly belongs. What are yor thoughts?

Pensar ( The Diddy Conspiracy)

What's Good?
Everybody knows I always acknowledge all aspects of music and something fell upon me. Diddy has been The Mogul of the music period. Well Russell set the trend but Diddy globalized and marketed it. Now in the industry with so many accolades under his belt Diddy is looking to reign again as Hip-Hop's leading man. What I've noticed in the past few months is that Diddy is rebuilding his legacy through his 1995 blueprint. If you haven't noticed , Diddy is placing some of Hip-Hop's front runners in the place of his 1997 Bad Boy roster that went missing. Peep game...Have you noticed  that Diddy is treating Ross like BIG? Running around the music industry insulting Biggies legacy saying that Ross is the new BIG. Using his mogul image in all of Ross' Appearances to popularize the Miami native. His next artist is Nicki Minaj who is soon to step out as Kim,well not Kim but surely consume her image. Minaj may not be the best lyricist but she can get help just like Kim did. All the provocative clothing with raunchy but sexy attitude has become Minaj's image.
Now beefing with Lil Kim the media will make sure that Minaj stands on top and put Kim's memory to past in the eyes of the young generation who didn't experience the first Bad Boy era. Dirty Money is obviously Total. Which you can see now because its Diddy and Dirty Money. Once these two vocally talented woman place themselves in the musical gap when it opens Diddy will push them down the ears of every undecided listener. More acts will come soon but peep game while its formulating. He will rebuild his empire but without all the failing acts he invested in over ten years ago.

Pensar...

What's Good?
As we all come to red lights in life, Do we actually stop and analyze all the turns we made in life. When analyzing these turns do we need a specific setting or do we go home and shut the world out. Living in New York City has lead me to many up and down and more downs than up but when its up(pause) its up big time (pause). If you live in New York or any other major city please take time out from everything because this busy life style can be the death of you. I understand the economy is rough and that we want to find jobs to continue in life but we have to stop and meditate on our thoughts.

Pensar(When does flirting goes wrong?/ Emotional cheating!!)

What's Good?
Well there are two woman who i consider to be my friends and they both spoke about this topic which happens in every relationship and is impossible to avoid. Flirting can be cheating and some say the act its self is cheating. first answer this question... What is Cheating? Most people say "flirting can become other things, that is why they dont approve it". Simply, I say cheating is something you would do with someone that you won't do in my face!
Do you think you can emotionally cheat on someone? would you consider two people who have significant others and share their thoughts and passion(mentally) with each other cheating? Remember they never had a physical affair(no kissing touching or loving)? My next question is, if they were caught would it be forgivable to where the relationship can still exist?

FLASHBACK: LETTER TO NYC

What's Good?
I was looking back and noticed how much this letter meant to me...

Im lost, every day I wake up I find myself in misery or some sort of discomfort. I remember so vividly how great my days were back in public school growing up. Remember the amount of originality and clout this once beautiful city had. I remember how influential this city once was. We were once the fashion capitol, everything we did fashion wise would spread like wild fire but once it reached the other "posin" cities we were already onto another fad or trend (which ever you prefer). Remember Paco jeans, Avirex,Girbaud, iceberg, Coogi(not the new coogi), Polo rugby,or the birth of Karl Kani. We brought motherfucking versace and Gucci swag to the hood. Remember first down and bear jackets. Every borrough had their own swag. Brooklyn was timbs harlem and uptown was vasquez or ACG's. Later Air Max was the best thing in the market especially the 95's. One thing the borroughs shared was music! We had the fucking game on lock. Every artist had to get through New York to make a Buzz.Biggie would turn in his grave if he would of seen the bullshit going on in the game. First and foremost while on the topic of music, Fuck Hot 97.1. All the fabrication of the music industry is their fault. You can basically say they sold their souls. Payola is for sure the devil. Giving horrible artist the chance to start a trend of horrible music and letting them flood the station with their music. Funk Master Flex was the gate keeper of Hip Hop with his radio syndicate show. He let the corny ass snap and pop labels pay for his bombs. REMEMBER IF YOU CAN!!! When Flex dropped a bomb it was hottest shit to touch the radio. NOW that dick sucking male groupie drop bombs on everything. The Bomb is like the American dollar it aint worth shit. It's up to him to reset music and put it back in it's proper place. Sad to say most New Yorkers are dick riders now too. They have lost all of their originality. Now they follow trends of major cities like L.A. ,D.C. and MI,.so now when I look back and I see how good life used to be it depresses me. New York is officially lost.

Here are some word of motion...

This is the life i wanted way back then
no maybach
just a bus pass way back then
karl kani ,lumber jack jackets
all black timbs
take you back b4 all my friends
on the scene
the best team or rap group was the wu
ohh ssshhh
im catching a flashback like Papoose
well he was more the 80's
i was more the 90's
where life was more simple
i wish i could just rewind it
if i ruled the world was perfect timing
that when hip-hop was in its new york state of mind
when rappers was more lyrical
B.I.G. was at his pinnacle
Jay was on the come-up
and nas was more visual
Craig scared he world
pac lived as a rebel
his revolution to thug life kept him in trouble
i live in the bronx known as the hometown
Brooklyn introduce me to B.I.G.
thats when it Goes dooooowwwwwnnn
rap history goes deep
but lemme go back to
common before BE
He used to love H.E.R.
but i still do
its a foolish love
because she cheats on us dudes
Hoe or No Hoe she's mine
remember
get ya tapes Funk Flex at 9
when time was rough she help me get through it
but now her presence is useless
cuz cats today who lack lyrics
call her feel good music
not impress
she's down at a all time flop
Music heads one question
WHERE IS HIP-HOP?

Pensar: Summer Love...

What's Good?
Summer time is officially here despite the fact that it starts June 21st. This is the best time of the year for everybody. So many memories are born as each fun-filled day comes to past. College students live for this season the most because their opportunities are limitless when involving the true elements of the 'Lifestyle'.
Music has always evolved the lifestyle status of all kinds of people and no matter what genre it was ,somehow it was affected. Hip-Hop has always been my passion since we first met on June 21st 1995 when I moved to Brooklyn. Being around the music helped me to everything I am. Now fifteen years later music has changed in so many ways. Now music is making its way back with some artist who influences are similar to when it first started. If you appreciate the music then you will accept  all of its elements that create the lifestyle of its nature. Photography and film will build a more vivid memory of what can happen. The fashion which always recycles itself as the seasons come full circle can always manipulate how you are feeling. My summer days will always consist of camo's ,kicks and tee's. I hate dressing up! Love can always emerge while immersing yourself in these activities. The music will complete you which is the soul of it all. Finding the right song to play as your day to day soundtrack will find you.....

**R.I.P. Gary Coleman**

What's Good?
It has come to my attention that Gary Coleman passed away at the young age of 42... The Child television Star from 1970's television show 'Diff'rent Strokes' lived a life from stardom to tabloid scrutiny to his road to redemption, until he found his day to see his maker. Everbody give your last applaud for Arnold...."What You talkin' bout Willis"

Pensar: The Understanding...

What's Good?
A monumental event took place in my life and many people connected to me. Bo & I have overcome many obstacles and broke many evaluations of statistics. Graduating from the class of 2010 made me realize that this dream is for everyone. Growing up in New York City, you are faced with many opposing forces. Statistics show that 38 percent of us(Black men) will be dead or in jail and another 24 percent says we will end up on public assistance or work a dead end job making up to 18% over minimum wage. I stand here telling the world and the many kids from East New York Brooklyn ''that dreams can come true if you apply yourself". To my 8th grade teacher Mrs. Douglass who said "I'll end up an ain't shit NIGGA!" this one is for you!

Pensar: As Life Evolve

What's Good?
In many lost thoughts, we tend to try to see what life has in place for us. In our undergraduate careers we tend to live without any worries on what life may throw at us. Four years can go so fast and suddenly you begin to think "Wat have I done?". This reflection is almost as relative to life. What is the true definition to living life. What would you like to accomplish before the curtains close.
